Wibblelog

I need to get out more.

So, I discovered this nifty little gadget that will generate a map of all the places you’ve visited. I guess I’ve been to my fair share of states: (for those of you wishing to play along at home, you can make your own maps here)

However, the list of countries I’ve been to is kinda weak, to say the least:

And really, the Canada portion should look like this:

(I was in Toronto once. For one day.)

I’m hoping to improve my world-traveliness. I’ve actually filled out a Passport application - I just need to take it to the appropriate post office at the appropriate time so I can have my photograph taken (NO SMILING, natch) and mail the form off to the appropriate beaurocracy. The first place I visit outside of the US is likely to be Dublin, Ireland. My employer has an office there, and it shouldn’t be all that difficult to come up with a reason why I need to visit them. Or maybe I’ll go to Mexico late this summer on a vacation. I totally need to go somewhere, though; I’m getting quite jealous of all my coworkers who all seem to have travelled around the world and back. Even my roommate, who is as much of a country bumpkin as I am, has gone to Ireland (and probably other places I’m not aware of). My younger sister just came back from a (disasterous, from the sound of it) trip to Italy and Greece or something like that. No fair! Why didn’t I get off my ass and go traipsing around Europe when I was a starving student? It seems to be the hip thing to do and all.
